This work is about the passage of time, social transitionand memory. These are topics I often address in my work. Its totemic composition is in part inspired by a sculpture from 1967 by the American minimalist sculptor Donald Judd (1928-1994).

This work exemplifies the process-based approach to painting I used to practice before returning to figurative painting ten years ago.
